Last week’s theme for Mixed Media Monday was Childhood and, while I am late in uploading this image, I was so very pleased with how the silhouettes worked out that I have to post it. Plus, this blog needed pictures!
The image above was made using a page torn out from an old book (I love taking home books on their last legs from flea markets and used book stores), treated with gesso and acrylic paints and watercolors. The edges were brushed with walnut stain, a recent trick I’ve been loving.
Even more belated, the January 18 theme for 4×4 Friday was people with wings, but I am delighted by these two attempts (my first in this size) and happy my people are sporting some rather non-traditional wings (it seems butterfly wings are the norm).
This final guy, also inspired by the Friday 4×4 theme, is unfinished, but I thought it would be fun to post a work in progress.
Comments are not only welcome, but they are rejoiced over!
Thanks for reading!
